Service provider audits

These start with a review of waste management and recycling requirements at the waste producer followed by an audit of the service provider.  They are used to assess the compliance of existing service providers against a range of criteria whilst also identifying areas where improvements can be made.  They can also be used to assess the suitability of potential future service providers prior to contracts being awarded.

They focus on areas such as licensing and permits, operational capabilities and contingency, management of subcontractors, management of the waste supply chain, traceability of wastes to the point of final recovery or disposal, administrative / reporting systems, risk assessments and staff training.  They can also be used to ensure compliance with specific policies of the waste producer, such as achieving zero waste to disposal.
